  • Description

Graphite crucible is made of natural flake graphite as main raw material and plastic refractory clay or carbon as binder, which has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, strong thermal conductivity, good corrosion resistance and long service life. In the process of high temperature use, the coefficient of thermal expansion is small, and it has certain strain resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heating. Strong corrosion resistance to acidic and alkaline solutions, excellent chemical stability, and no participation in any chemical reaction during smelting. The inner wall of graphite crucible is smooth, and the melted metal liquid is not easy to leak and adhere to the inner wall of crucible, which makes the metal liquid have good fluidity and castability, and is suitable for casting and molding with different molds. Graphite crucible is widely used for smelting alloy tool steel and nonferrous metals and their alloys because of its excellent characteristics.

FAQs

Note 1: Transportation

Graphite electrode should be covered with rain-proof tarpaulin in the process of transportation.

Note 2: Forklift Transport

Be careful when transporting and pilling the electrodes with forklift and avoid collisions. One layer of goods at a time, notice the balance and alignment to avoid falling or breakage

Note 3: Loading Caution

When loading and unloading with forklift, additional wire rope must be used and steel wrapping tape can not be employed directly to fetch electrode.

Note 4: Storage Caution

Electrode should be stored in clean and dry place. When stocked in open area, it should be covered with rain-proof tarpaulin and the number of piling layers ought not to exceed four.

Note 5: Precautions Before Use

Electrodes should be dried next to electric furnace before using. The temperature should not exceed 120 °C and the time should not be less than 48 hours.

Note 7: Installation Caution

Please clean the electrode threads first before connection, then screw the nipple into one end of the electrode. Don't touch the thread, and don't put the joint directly into the working electrode on furnace.

Note 6: Wrapping Tape Cutting

When using electrode, special tools should be employed to cut the steel wrapping tape, and crane should not be adopted to avoid bursting.

Note 9: Hoisting Attention

Use revolved resilient hanger and put soft cushions under the electrode nipple to avoid breakage of thread.

Note 8: Electrode Thread Cleaning

Steel-wire ball, metallic brush or emery cloth is not allowed for cleaning electrode thread, but compressed air free of oil and water is available.

Note 10: Connection Caution

Before connecting, clean the screw thread of electrode with compressed air free of oil and water.

Note 11: Nipple Connection

When connecting, the electrode is aligned with the center axis of the nipple to which is the connected.

Note 12: Tighten the Electrode

Use special caliper to tight electrode according to rated torque by mechanical way, hydraulic pressure or wind pressure equipment should also be available.

Note 13: Electrode Clamp Position

Clamp holder should be placed out of the alarm line. (Note: clamp holder should not clamp at alarm line zone, or the middle of the electrode, as it is easy to cause the rupture of the electrode) Clamp holder and interfaces of the electrode must be cleaned regularly to keep good touch with electrode.

Note 14: Graphite Electrode Selection

To avoid the electrode breakage, insulating materials should not be put into the furnace. The working current of electrode must be conformity with the allowable current of electrode in the instructions.

Note 15: Large Material Smelting

In order to avoid electrode breakage, put the large materials in lower part and small materials on the upper part.
